“Today, Sharadindu is not just among the finest retirement communes in Karnataka, but among the best senior homes in India.”
Senior communes or retirement communities are coming of age in India too. Changing life styles, growing affluence among the senior citizens, desire to move away from crowded, polluted cities into a secure place where all concerns are addressed are among the many reasons that have made popular the concept of senior living homes in India.
When Sharadindu was still in conceptual stage, its promoters, Mr. Sreenath and Mrs. Gayathri Sreenath, decided to design it as the best quality retirement homes that suited the needs of senior people the best. With this objective in mind, they visited many retirement homes in India and in Europe and the USA. Sharadindu is, thus, the end product of a long research and many interactions with the stakeholders of other senior living homes in Bangalore and other cities. Having realized the futility of developing retirement communities in Bangalore or any other crowded city, where high levels of pollution are medically known to cause many debilitating medical conditions such as respiratory diseases, dementia and cancers, the promoters looked for a place that was free of pollution and yet close to a well-developed city that offered the best of medical and recreational facilities. Their search led them to Pandavapura, one of the most scenic regions of Karnataka, a town of gentle hills, rivers and lakes. Pandavapura is also very close to many places of interest. Its proximity to Mysore – a mere 25 minutes’ drive – will also ensure that the residents of Sharadindu have ready access to excellent recreational and medical facilities.
